A Wonderful Weekend with Dad!
Hello Family and Friends!
This weekend was AMAZING because my daddy came to visit! Dad arrived on Friday night and Chris and I decided to introduce him to Maryland crab pickin'! We went to Cantler's Riverside Inn for all you can eat crab. Chris, who learned to pick from his mom and Grandparents at an early age showed us how to break down a crab. The deliciousness of the sweet crab with the salty Old Bay was a delight! Now Dad can really appreciate all the work that goes into a crab cake!
On Saturday morning I baked some delicious bubble bread and we chowed down before heading to Baltimore to tour the town. We walked to the Inner Harbor and then to the William and Henry Walters Art Museum to look at the Shrunken Treasures exhibit. We ended our tour at the B&O Railroad museum!
After all of that walking, we worked up an appetite for some good German food. We decided to go to Old Stein Inn and join their Oktoberfest festivities in the Biergarten. We had a great time! Un-beknownst to the polka band, they made my night when they played the Chicken Dance! I asked Dad to get up and dance it with me and he did!!! The Jagerschnitzel was delicious and the Oktoberfest brew was tasty!
On Sunday, Dad and I went to D.C. to check out the Newseum! It was pretty cool. We got to look at the way news was reported through time, watch a cool 4-D movie, and see some amazing views of D.C.! After 3 hours of touring the museum, we stopped by the Green Turtle Sports Bar to watch some of the Bengals game. We got there just in time for the second half! Much to our surprise the Bengals pulled off a win against the Baltimore Ravens! Who Dey!
On Monday, Dad told us about a breakfast place nearby that was featured on NPR. We decided to check it out. The place was called The Breakfast Shoppe and the food was amazing! Dad and I then went to Annapolis to explore Eastport and Back Water...a place we've never been before! It was fun walking around and looking at waterfront houses and new views of the city!
All in all it was a GREAT weekend and Dad's Columbus Day visits are becoming a fun tradition!
I love you Dad!
