Claire meets more friends and family & cheers on the UK Cats!

Dear Friends and Family, What a fun second week we've had! Claire got to meet some new friends and family! We have really appreciated all of the people taking time out of their weeks to stop by and say hello. And I can't believe how we continue to get gifts from family and friends in the mail! We are so touched by your support. My friend Talona came all the way up from Richmond, VA for a visit - Talona, I'm sorry I forgot to get a picture of us together while you were here!
Claire meets Chris White, Todd & Kristen Fleet!
Claire meets Jon Fisher - in town from Pennsylvania!
As I mentioned in my last post, my mom is here helping out with chores, cooking dinners, and helping to affirm my decisions as a new mother. Her support has been wonderful and it gives Chris and I more time to snuggle with Claire rather than think about meals or laundry! I have started pumping a bottle for Chris or relatives to feed to Claire just to give myself a break from a feeding and to give others a chance to bond with her in this way. My brother-in-law Hunter gave her a late bottle last night which was wonderful! Claire also slept for about 4 hours straight and I had my first deep sleep since her delivery! It was AMAZING! Thanks family!
Chris is great at giving Claire her bottles.
He talks to her and cheers her on as she gulps it down!
Chris also gave Claire a bath this week! He did such a good job! After a bath, our Sleeping Beauty sleeps soundly!
Chris and I took Claire to her first restaurant this week! We went to Edgewater Restaurant with the family for Crab Cakes! Here's a photo of Chris playing with Claire before bundling her into her snow suit! She napped the whole time we were at the restaurant - good girl!
Claire loves to snuggle with Nana! Nana helps burp her for me during feedings. It's amazing what a relief it is to have someone else do the burping!
Uncle Kyle and Aunt Ryan came to meet Claire! It was so nice of them to drive in from Columbus. Both of them couldn't wait to meet her! They brought with them a UK themed build-a-bear. We realized that Claire is so small she could wear the bear's outfit!
Photos to follow...
A three generation picture!
Claire ready to cheer on the UK Wildcats! We got the onesie from her "Aunt" Catherine Gatewood and the skirt and pompoms are from the build-a-bear outfit! SO CUTE!
C-A-T-S, CATS, CATS, CATS!
Here's a picture of two UK Cheerleaders :)
Claire meets her Aunt Sara!
Three UK Cheerleaders!
Claire also went to the Doctor yesterday for a check-up. She now weighs 7lbs 4oz! The doctor says Claire looks great. She is a very alert baby and is great at tracking things! Chris and I can both tell that she is getting bigger! I scheduled her 2 month appointment while I was there. At her next appointment she will get her follow up Hepatitis B shot. I was relieved when I realized that appointment will be while my mother-in-law is here in February! I'm sure we will both need her support!
I love you all, and I look forward to introducing more of you to Claire!
xoxox,
Bethie
