Dear Friends and Family,
This week, Claire turned 15 months old! I can't believe how big she is getting. She still isn't walking, but she is getting bolder in her cruising, and she is standing more on her own. At the doctor this week, I was elated when he told me that she doubled her weight percentile from 5% to 10%! I completely credit her affection for whole milk as her main source of calories.
Claire is still trying new finger foods. She will try (as in lick or squish between her fingers) whatever Chris and I are having for dinner, plus, this week she got to try peanut butter for the first time! Of course it was a big hit, and I'm excited about having another protein source. New teeth are cutting through on either side of her two front teeth, and they are helping her to bite and chew these new foods. Today she took bites off of my banana... and ate most of them.
I didn't even realize she was cutting the new teeth until I was playing with her and tickling her belly. During her giggles I got a great view. In response to the teething, Claire has developed an appreciation for the ice cube! She knows where they are in the freezer, so anytime I open the door she crawls over as quickly as she can and nabs one for a snack.

| With ice cube in hand, this girl is poised to devour. |
 |
| YUM! |
 |
| (It was a hot day too! Can you tell by the wild curls?) |
 |
Ice cube, cold as winter
you chill my gums,
I love you!
(Obviously, Claire is so cool that she thinks in Haiku.) |

This weekend, Chris and I did some mulching! We got 5 yards of mulch delivered and spent two days chipping away at the pile. As a result, our flower beds look amazing!
 |
| The azaleas are out and the day lilies are getting bigger! |
 |
| Focus on the mulch - not the grass - or lack thereof... (The lawn is going to be our Fall project.) |
 |
I can't wait to see the blooms on these day lilies!
Thanks Grammie! And Thanks Mom & Dad for delivering and helping to plant them! |
Unfortunately, I was a total slacker on photos this weekend. We were invited to a fun cookout at our friends John and Becca White's house and we had a great time! Claire and I also met some of our "Mom" friends at the Mall for some playtime. Claire loves it there so much. She just crawls around the playground while squealing sounds of joy and waving at all the kids. It's adorable, and by the time we leave, we are friends with half the kids and most of the other parents.
I hope everyone else is having a great week!
Love,
Bethie
