We had a Ball!

Dear Friends and Family,

The big news this week is that Claire got to go see her first movie in a movie theater, and we had a ball! Chris and Will had some father/son bonding time while Claire and I joined her friend Xaviana and my friend Megan for a 10:30am showing of the new Frozen short film and Cinderella. Claire's most common comments were, "Why is it so dark in here?" and "Why is it so loud?" But aside from that she LOVED the movie.

A few months ago, when I found out this movie was coming, I started dreaming of sewing a Cinderella dress. Cinderella has always been one of my favorite fairy tales. And hey, if it was acceptable for me to wear a Cinderella dress to the movie, I would have!  Instead I left the dressing up to Claire, and I put on some glittery eyeshadow and packed a magic wand so I could pretend I was Claire's, I mean Cinderella's, Fairy Godmother!  I just couldn't help myself!
Bibbity Bobbity Boo!
Claire LOVED her Cinderella dress with the big poofy skirt!
Claire is so excited to see the movie! (As the lights went down, this is what my face looked like too!)
Two beautiful Cinderellas!  Megan made Xaviana a dress too! These girls looked SO pretty!
Big smiles after the movie!
Later that evening, Chris and I got a babysitter so we could attend my wonderful friend, Heather's surprise party!  Amazingly, it really did turn out to be a surprise.  She was shocked when she came through the door!
Happy Birthday, Heather!
On Sunday, Claire got into her UK dress to help me cheer on UK to the SEC Championship title!  This team is amazing and I really do think we could go undefeated.  I can't wait to see them try in the NCAA tournament. Even if they lose, this will be season to remember! GO CATS!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and in an effort to celebrate the holidays more, I had Claire help me with some crafts!  First we did some activity sheets.
Claire loves to practice tracing and cutting.
Now brace yourself for her drawing of a leprechaun!  He looks pretty sneaky to me!
Then we made some leprechaun binoculars so we could look for shamrocks in the garden and any lucky leprechauns running across the yard.  Claire liked talking about the leprechauns so much we decided to do a story about how Claire caught a Leprechaun.
Finally, on St. Patrick's Day the kids woke up to a little shamrock hunt (with their leprechaun binoculars) that lead to a box of Lucky Charms cereal (a.k.a. Leprechaun treasure). Claire loves the leprechaun's breakfast treat, but was sad to find out that you can only get it from leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day.
Will is ready to use his binoculars for the hunt!

Claire is excited to see all the marshmallows in her cereal!
After our fun breakfast we rushed around to get dressed for Claire's first picture day.  One of the moms took a class picture with her phone. The kids look SO cute!
As a final bit of luck for St. Patrick's day, we had amazing weather in the 60's! (Thank you God and St. Patrick for that special treat!) We started out playing on the deck and decided to head down to the beach.
Claire collected rocks while Will looked for rocks and "stuff" to throw in the bay.

I love how you can see Will winding up to toss another rock in Claire's sunglasses!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
Love,
Bethie
