Dear Friends and Family,
As you may remember from my previous post, last week was rough! I ended up seeing the doctor on Thursday, and I was so happy when she diagnosed me with a sinus infection. My head, face, teeth, everything just hurt! Luckily antibiotics work fast and within a day of taking the first dose I was already feeling immensely better. Will's fevers finally disappeared with his antibiotics so he is feeling better too. This weekend, despite our improvement, we were all feeling tired and weak so we didn't even leave the house for two days. Instead we stayed in our PJs and watched movies, played games, worked on art and craft projects, and homework.

| Nap |
 |
| Another nap... My Will who never seems to stop is napping! |
 |
| Claire was working on a cool sticker art project and Will was feeling jealous so I gave him a stack of band-aids and told him to decorate the letter B! It was great for helping him with his fine motor skills and it kept him busy for a while! |
 |
| And go ahead and share in a laugh with me over his hair! I keep telling him he needs a haircut and he says, "Nope! I like it like this!" Don't worry, once we are fully healthy again, I'm going to make it happen! |

| This guy loves to paint! |
 |
| I found sequins and glitter paint pens at the dollar store and tucked them away for just this occasion! Claire was in heaven! |
 |
| Time for another nap! Actually, in an effort to avoid watching another cartoon, I found a few of the DisneyNature films and the kids - especially Claire- ended up liking them. I found the adult voice narrator and nature scenes particularly soothing as it's been a while since I've gotten to interact with peers or see the outside world. Anyway, I had one on while I was making dinner and I thought, "Wow, the kids are really into this show, I haven't heard a peep out of them for sometime now." Then I realized they found the show soothing too! |
Last week, Claire was given her first research project! In KINDERGARTEN! Whew, kindergarten is the real deal now! I was already impressed with her homework journal, math assignments, and reading, but now she is working on her first report. Every student was given an animal, Claire got polar bears. She had to fill in a chart that describes the polar bear (looks like..., lives..., and eats...) Then she had to do an art project featuring the polar bear (family help is encouraged), and finally write at least two sentences about the polar bear. I was really pleased by how eager Claire was to complete this assignment, and we ended up having lots of fun working on it together.

Yesterday, about a week delayed, Will and I finally felt well enough to bring brownies for Claire's class birthday party. Claire was all smiles as her class sang to her. Will and I even got to stay for the last 20 minutes of class to play and interact with Claire's friends. It was a fun time!
I hope everyone else is staying healthy!
Love,
Bethie
