Dear Friends and Family,
Advent and Christmas was wild and wonderful, but God knew what he was doing when he sent FREEZING temperatures our way! Rather than jumping right back into the hustle and bustle around town, we chose to lay low, snuggled under blankets. It was much too cold to leave the house. Heck, we were even cold in the house! Our thermostat was set at 69 degrees and we woke up each morning to an indoor temperature of 61/62 degrees! Brrr! Luckily, Chris thought ahead and we have that HUGE mountain of firewood to draw from. About an hour after waking, Chris would have the house (or at least the living room) back up to 72 degrees! He sure knows how to build a warm fire.
This weekend our low was -4 degrees. Luckily to escape boredom, our friends Jessica and Christian came to visit us on Friday for pizza and card games. We had a great time, and all the Supples were happy to see the dogs again!

Then on Saturday afternoon, we went to our friends Mike and Laura Billings to visit! The kids got to watch a movie while the adults played a hilarious game called, "What Do You Meme?" It's a game where there's a funny or strange picture and then everyone picks a phrase or quote that best suits the picture. (You don't have to think too hard since everyone picks from a card pile with phrases to choose from.) You then put the phrases in a pile and a rotating judge reads them out loud (this is where the laughter and tears come in...) and picks the best one. The pictures and suggested phrases are so funny you can't help but laugh the whole time! It's really a win/win kind of game!

Other than rest and some much needed visits with friends, I've been sewing to prepare for Claire's birthday next week! She got a pair of roller skates for Christmas and she is in them all the time! So I'm making her a hoodie with a roller skate on the back! Now I just need to add the phrase, "Later Skater!" around the skate.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
Love,
Bethie
