This week I've seen some of the most amazing sunrises. I wake up around 6:45am and each morning I rush to the window and pull the shades to see what kind of sky God is going to surprise me with! Almost everyday this week it's been amazing. I usually fall back into bed so I can just stare and give God tons of praise. Then the deep thoughts start about how blessed I really am and how easy it is to get distracted by "wants" and "wishes," and then miss all the great "haves" that are right in front of you. I HAVE so much to be thankful for!
I also started to think about some of my complaints. With this extremely cold winter, and the groundhog seeing his shadow, I've been lamenting the news that spring and summer won't come sooner. Then the thought dawned on me that when spring and summer do arrive, I won't be able to get up early enough to see the sunrise anymore. So, the take away was, "I need to remember to be content in the present and with what I have."
This week I was also blessed with lots of fun visits with friends. My neighborhood girlfriends got together for a girls night at Maggie's beautiful home and we had so much fun catching up. These girls are just so fun to be around! Who knows what we talk about, but we always end up laughing a lot!

I'll close with one last BIG announcement: THE OLYMPICS START ON FRIDAY!!!! I'm so excited, and so is Claire, which is awesome! Luckily, Will likes almost anything that involves a TV screen, because we are going to be watching lots of winter sports soon!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week!
Love,
Bethie

Bethie, Thanks for sharing your gorgeous examples of God’s art! What a beautiful way to start each day. I too get caught up in “wants” but I ground myself with gratitude for all of my many blessings when I thank God at mealtime and bedtime. I should start my day that way too and maybe I would be more gracious about getting up “early”. I love that we got to chat. Please send me some of the titles of books Claire is reading, I thought it would be fun to read one and chat on the phone with her about the fairy peril du jour. 💝Mom
