Dear Friends and Family,
We were just made aware that a dear family member, Chris' cousin Martin McGough, was diagnosed with endocarditis. The normal course of treatment is antibiotics, but cousin Martin's case turned out to be quite severe requiring surgery, and now he's in critical condition. The situation is very uncertain and we are all busy saying prayers for Martin, his wife April, and two daughters Ella and Lily. Please join me in praying for Martin's full recovery and for his family to feel God's presence in the midst of this scary situation. Amen.

This week has been full of fun! From a (hopefully end-of-season) snow storm, to a magical date night to Northern Virginia to see Chris' cousin, Jackie Southee, perform with The Second City comedy troop on tour out of Chicago!
Here are a few pictures from the snow storm!
| This kid loves his snow! |
| Our wonderful friend Maggie has a nice sledding hill, so she invited us over to play! Claire, Hayleigh and Frances work on a snowman! |
| Snowball fight! You can see Will's snowball traveling through the air, if you look closely! |
| Now it's Logan's turn! |
| Claire and Hayleigh helped me build a snowman in front of our house! (Thanks to my wonderful friend Maureen, we had a snowman kit complete with plastic carrot nose, eyes, and buttons! We finally got to use it!) |
| The storm wasn't without casualties. The neighbor's tree came down and just missed our window (whew), instead putting a few puncture holes in our siding. Yikes! |
By the weekend, Chris and I were both ready for a little get-away! Our wonderful friends, Jessica and Christian took the kids for an overnight slumber party! What a relief to have a whole night away and not worry about the kids. The kids had a blast, making cookies, and pizza, watching movies, playing hide and seek, and getting donuts for breakfast the next morning!
Chris and I cheerfully dropped the kids off around 3pm on Saturday and zipped down to Northern VA to check-in at our hotel and then to meet our Southee family members at Tysons Biergarten for dinner.

| Freedom smiles! |
| Prost! To cousins, and to Jackie's tour with The Second City! |
| The Jackie Southee, cheering section! |
| Date night selfie, complete with Aunt Sue photo bomb! |
| The Southee family: Uncle Scott, Erin, Jackie, Aunt Sue, and Michael, Big smiles at seeing Jackie living the dream! |
| So happy to see Jackie again and congratulate her on an awesome show! |
| Our whole goofy gang! |
As for the comedy show, it was non-stop laughs! I was totally impressed with how on point the jokes were, how fluid the show was, moving easily from one skit to the next, and how they could create these hilarious scenes with only a few chairs as props. The lights would go to black for as short as two or three seconds and the chairs would be rearranged and new group of actors in place for the next skit. Only five other comedians rounded out the troop and they were truly a funny and cohesive bunch. As an extra surprise, Aunt Sue was randomly selected to participate in a skit and it was SO fun to see both Jackie and her mom together on stage!
I'll close with a wish for a Happy Easter to everyone! We are eagerly preparing for Chris' Mom and Dad, Sister (Megan) and her boyfriend (Joe), to join us on Friday! Friday is also Chris' birthday...let me tell you, if you're Catholic, it's pretty rough to discover your birthday is on Good Friday, a fasting day in our church. I'm sure Chris will still feel special though, having family here to celebrate with him. He's definitely making me feel special by helping me with a decent sized "Honey-Do List!" I certainly hit the jack-pot when I married such a wonderful man!
Love,
Bethie
