This week has been somewhat uneventful due to illness. Let's just say that I'm getting some serious cabin fever. With sick kiddos, we aren't doing much of anything, except going to see the doctor. Claire had her 3 year check-up on Thursday. We had been talking about it for the past month to prepare. I wasn't sure if she would get a shot so I told her that was a possibility, she was ok with that. When we got there, she did great with the weigh-in and height check (weight: 30lbs/50%, height: 38in./75%) and all of the other vitals that the nurse performed. We got great news that there would be no shot, but as soon as the doctor walked in, she started crying and told him that she didn't want her ears checked. We ended up doing the whole physical in my lap! The good news is Claire is in great shape, the bad news is that I asked the Doc to check out my sick Will and it turned out that he had a double ear infection! UGH! Poor guy! So we left with a prescription for Amoxicillin and, oddly enough, with Claire telling me that she did so great! She said, "I didn't even cry, Mom!" I said, "What?! Then who was that child who freaked out during the appointment just a few moments ago, Claire?!" (Should I be worried?)
Now that Claire has grown so tall, I decided to try her out on her Big Wheel bike and she can now reach the pedals! Here is a video of her riding it...right into the garage... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV9Qtd70ju8
Something I love about my blog is the ability to go back to when Claire was Will's age to compare their development and to remember baby Claire. This week, I saw pictures of Claire in the toy house that Kate and Cara Simplicio gave us. So, I moved the house from the playroom to the TV room. Will has really enjoyed playing in it and exploring the mailbox, door and spinning birdies. Claire has also rediscovered her love for the house.
Here are pictures of baby Claire with the house:
| You can almost see the house in the background...this picture was just too cute not to include! |
Claire and I also checked out her future preschool this week. Boy, time flies! Speaking of time flying, I was just thinking about the next Winter Olympics being in 2018. 2018 doesn't seem like a long time from now, but Claire will be 7 and Will will be 4 (and 9 months). Two kids in school! YIKES!
I hope everyone is having a great week!
Love,
Bethie
